October 21, 1942.

P.J. O’Neill, Esq.,
Chief of Police
St. John’s,
Newfoundland.

Dear Sir:

As requested in your telegram of October 20th, I am forwarding herewith photographs of both Mrs. Skinner and her two children, lost in the sinking of the Caribou.

As a further means of identification I have learned that Mrs. Skinner at the time of the tragedy was in all probability dressed in a Navy Blue Dress and a black hat.  She had a pendant around her neck, and wore two rings, a wedding one and an engagement one.  She also had a wrist watch on at the time.

When you are through with these photographs I would appreciate it if you would see to it that they are returned.

The relatives of the victims have been notified of the undertakers instructions regarding the burial.

                                                                                                Yours truly,
                                                                                                    JJC/br
                                                                                             Chief of Police
