Body Brought to Town

The body of William E. Bishop, recovered from the Florizel disaster, was brought in by train last evening and was identified by the Rev. T. B. Darby, M.A., and other friends of the deceased.  Mr. Bishop was a member of the well known firm of Messrs. C. F. & W. Bishop, Merchants of Burin, and was on his way to Gloucester on business in connection with a vessel of the firms now due at the above port with a cargo of herring.  Mr. Bishop was well and favourably known both in Burin and in this city for his quiet and retiring disposition.  He leaves to mourn him at Burin a wife, four children, his aged father, Mr. Daniel Bishop, sisters, and brother, Charles, senior member of the firm, to all of whom the Telegram tenders its deepest sympathy.  The body is now being taken care of by the firm of Bishop Sons & Co., Ltd., and is being embalmed, preparatory to being sent home by the S.S. Prospero for interment.

The Evening Telegram, Feb 26, 1918.
