The first lighthouse to be built at Fort Point was in 1871, this picture is of the second lighthouse which was erected around 1900 and was condemned and demolished on June 25^th, 1971. The current light is affixed to a steel mast structure.

This would have been the lighthouse that was in existence when the Rowe’s were the Lighthouse Keepers and the Marion Rogers sank in 1938.
